About Korčula on Bike

Korčula on Bike started with a simple frustration: we kept arriving on this island one of the most beautiful in the Adriatic and finding nowhere to rent a bike that was actually worth riding. Worn-out city bikes on an island that deserves so much better.

So we changed that. We invested in high-performance electric bikes and set up in Žrnovo, a quiet village a few kilometres from Korčula Town, right at the heart of the island.

We're small by design. We'd rather do one thing brilliantly than everything averagely. We hope you feel the difference from the first pedal stroke.

Why it matters here

Korčula's hills don't forgive a weak motor

This island looks gentle from the ferry. It isn't. The roads between Korčula Town, Žrnovo and Pupnat climb fast, and a worn-out battery or underpowered motor turns a beautiful ride into a long walk home.

That's the gap we saw. Most rental bikes on the island are built for flat city streets, not for an island with real elevation. We brought in e-bikes that are actually built for terrain like this — and maintain them properly, every time.

Brakes, tyres, battery charge — every bike is inspected before it leaves with a guest, not just once a season.

Cleaned between every ride

You're not getting a bike straight off someone else's sweaty afternoon. Every return gets cleaned before it's rented again.

Parts replaced early

We don't wait for a brake pad or tyre to fail. Worn parts get replaced before they become your problem on a hill.

Based in Žrnovo

We're not a booking platform. We're your neighbours.

Korčula on Bike is run from Žrnovo, a few minutes from Korčula Town. We live on this island, and we built this rental because we wanted it to exist ourselves. We know which road to take when the wind picks up, and which café to stop at halfway to Lumbarda.
